It is the loss of the ability to focus closely.

The surgery consists of the extraction of the crystalline lens and immediate replacement by an artificial lens called a multifocal intraocular lens with the aim of providing the patient with far and near vision without the need for glasses, even when a cataract has not yet manifested or is very fledgling
